USTM shines again: 50 students qualify for UGC-NET, full course fee to be refunded

The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) continues its legacy of excellence in competitive exam preparation, with over 50 students successfully qualifying the UGC-NET in the recently declared December 2024 results. Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to student success, USTM will refund the entire course fee to these achievers under its unique Pay Back Policy.

Prof. G.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor of USTM, emphasized the university’s dedication to empowering students through expanded coaching programs and financial incentives. He stated, “USTM ensures that no deserving student is deprived of higher education due to financial constraints. Our initiatives not only prepare students for national competitive exams but also equip them with leadership skills for their future careers.”

Beyond academics, USTM’s coaching model integrates soft skills training, interview workshops, and motivational seminars, fostering holistic student development.
Dr. Trishna Thakuria, Director of USTM’s University NET Forum, highlighted the university’s proactive approach in preparing students for NET, GATE, SLET, IAS, and other competitive exams. She stated, “Our NET Forum conducts daily coaching sessions after 4:30 PM, ensuring rigorous preparation for UGC-NET aspirants.”

Under its Outreach Mission, USTM extends free coaching for various government and banking exams, including NET, SLET, GATE, SSC, and Banking, through its Centre for Competitive Examination. The NET Forum, a cornerstone of this initiative, has been mentoring students since 2017 with remarkable success.
