Vehicular traffic to be stopped for 30 minutes during the movement of the President in Shillong

The Meghalaya Police has informed that President of India Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Shillong and the Mawphlang Sacred Grove on 16 of this month.

According to East Khasi Hills SP S Nongtnger, in view of the movement of the VVIP, there will be staggering of vehicles in various places of the city and on the route taken by the VVIP. However, Emergency Service vehicles will be allowed to ply and facilitated.

He also informed that vehicular traffic will be halted for 30 mins prior to the arrival of the VVIP on 16 of this month at all traffic junctions.

The SP appealed to the general public to avoid travelling towards Mawngap and in and around Shillong city unless necessary. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted.
