Violent protest over unemployment is a warning for MDA govt: Mukul
Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma on Saturday said the violent protest over unemployment is a warning for the NPP-led MDA government.
Addressing a block level meeting of the TMC at Gambegre, West Garo Hills, Mukul Sangma expressed his grief about the FKJGP protest gone wrong.
“What happened yesterday is the saddest moment in the history of Meghalaya. The youngsters who protested yesterday against unemployment expressed their loss of hope by taking up law in their own hands. It is a clear warning sign, and hence we need to be careful,” he said.
Echoing her concerns about rising grievances in the state, TMC MDC, Sadhiarani Sangma said, “The MDA government has left no peace in the state. We are witnessing protests and rallies regarding so many issues like the teachers’ protest where the police had acted barbarically. I appeal to the people to take part in bringing change which can only be done through supporting the TMC.”
A congregation of Meghalaya TMC leaders were present at the event including MLA, Mahendraganj Dikkanchi D Shira, MLA Rangsakona, Zenith M Sangma, MLA Chokpot, Lazarus M Sangma, MDC, Agassi Marak and MLA Salmanpara, Winnerson D Sangma.
