Voting for 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam in 3 phases on April 19, 26 and May 7; Poll in Manipur and Tripura in 2 phases, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram in 1st phase
The elections to 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam will be held in the first, second and third phase of the poll on April 19, April 26 and May 7 while the voting for Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Nagaland will be completed during the first phase on April 19.
The poll in two seats each in Manipur and Tripura will be held in two phases on April 19 and April 27.
The counting of votes will be conducted on June 4 as the Chief Elections Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in New Delhi on Saturday.
The entire poll process will be completed by June 6. The Code of conduct applies to the announcement of the poll schedule.
Of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam, 5 seats will go for elections in the first phase on April 19, 5 seats in the second phase on April 27 and May 7 and 4 seats in the third phase on May 7.
In the first phase, voting will be conducted in Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh and Jorhat seats.
According to the poll schedule, March 20 will be the date for issue of notification, March 27 will be the last day for filing nomination, March 28 is the date of scrutiny of nomination, March 30 is the last date for withdrawal of nomination and March 19 is the date of poll.
In the 2nd phase on April 26, the poll will be held in Darrang-Udalguri, Diphu, Karimganj, Silchar and Nagaon constituencies.
According to the schedule, March 28 will be the last date of issue of notification, April 4 will be the last date for filing nomination, April 5 will be the date of scrutiny and April 8 will be the last date of withdrawal of nomination.
The third phase of the poll will be conducted on May 7 in four constituencies- Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Barpeta and Guwahati.
Under the schedule, April 12 will be the date of issue of notification, April 19 will be the last date of filing nomination, April 20 will be the date of scrutiny, and April 22 will be the last date of withdrawal of nomination.
The elections to 2 Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh- Arunachal West and Arunachal West along with assembly elections for 28 seats will be conducted in the first phase on April 19.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the elections for 2 Lok Sabha seats- Arunachal West and Arunachal West will be held in the first phase.
The elections to 60 constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly will also be held on the same day along with the Lok Sabha polls
According to the poll schedule for the first phase, March 20 will be the date for issue of notification, March 27 will be the last day for filing nomination, March 28 will be the date of scrutiny of nomination and March 30 will be the last date for withdrawal of nomination.
The elections in two seats of Tripura- Tripura West and Tripura East will be held in two phases on April 26.
The poll schedule for the first phase for Tripura West will be similar to other states.
For the second phase for Tripura East on April 26, schedule, March 28 will be the last date of issue of notification, April 4 will be the last date for filing nomination, April 5 will be the date of scrutiny and April 8 will be the last date of withdrawal of nomination.
The elections to 2 seats of Manipur- Outer Manaipur and Inner Manaipur will be held in two phases on April 19 and 26.
The voting in the polling stations falling under 33- Heirok, 34-Wangjing Tentha, 35-Khangabok, 36- Wabgai, 37- Kakching, 38-Hiyanglam, 39-Sugnoo, 41-Chandel (ST), 46-Saikul (ST), 50-Kangpokpi, 51-Saitu (ST), 57-Henglep (ST), 58-Churachandpur (ST), 59- Saikot (ST) and 60-Singhat (ST) will be conducted on April 26.
The voting for 2 seats of Meghalaya, 1 seat of Mizoram and 1 seat of Nagaland will also be held in the first phase on April 19 with the same schedule.
