VPP accepts defeat by bringing people from 5 constituencies in Umladang: Sniawbhalang Dhar
NPP national general secretary and deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Tuesday said the Voice of the People Party (VPP) has already accepted defeat when it has to bring people from five constituencies to attend its meeting at Umladang.
Dhar was addressing election campaigns at Moobakhon village for garnering support to JHADC chief and MDC from Moodop-Umladang Thombor Shiwat and party candidate Jesse Suiam from Moodymmai-Nongkroh at Tyrchang village.
At Moobakhon, Dhar requested the people of Moodop-Umladang constituency to repose their faith in the leadership of Shiwot, who is the longest serving CEM in Jaintia Hills.
He said because the VPP knows that Shiwat is winning, they have no option but to gather people from five constituencies to attend its meeting at Umladang. “This shows that they have accepted defeat. Therefore, I urge the people to ensure Shiwat comes out victorious. Those who never supported me have now come forward and we welcome them,” Dhar said.
Stating that the NPP is a party that talks less and works more, the deputy CM said, “The other political parties are full of lies so you should not be misled by their empty promises.”
At Tyrchang village, Dhar said that the party is confident that Suiam will win the Moodymmai-Nongkroh seat.
“Other parties are attacking us because we are a government that performs. That is why all would like to throw stones at a tree which has fruits because they want the government to give them its fruits. However, the more people are attacking us the more we grow from strength to strength. Our number keeps on increasing and now the NPP has 32 MLAs,” he stated.
“Moreover, there is no infightings within the party because it is a party that concentrates on stability and development of the state for the welfare of the people. We have set the trend that our state develops,” he said while adding “The VPP on the other hand its principle is just to talk but no work. Ardent has been associated with almost all the parties. After the election I don’t know what will be the next party they will form. NPP has a goal to bring development. We don’t mind having sleepless nights for the development of the constituency,” he added.
