VPP candidate files complaint against Mawdatbaki headman for denying permission to hold public meeting at Nongmali

VPP candidate from Jaiaw Denzil R Chen on Wednesday filed a complaint against the headman of Mawdatbaki for allegedly denying permission to hold a public meeting at Mawlai-Nongmali on February 6.

In a letter to the District Election Officer (DEO), East Khasi Hills, Chen alleged that the Rangbah Shnong of Mawdatbaki has denied him permission to hold a public meeting on February 6 at Nongmali vide letter dated February 5.

“This is a direct violation of the order…dated January 30 issued by the deputy secretary to the Govt of Meghalaya, District Council Affairs department,” he said.

“I, therefore, request you to take necessary action by this evening failing which I will be compelled to take immediate necessary action and address the same before the appropriate competent authority for redressal of my grievances,” Chen stated in the letter to the DEO.
