VPP chief slam MLAs for insinuating his party over job reservation policy issue
Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) chief and Nongkrem legislator Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit on Thursday slammed legislators from other political parties for allegedly insinuating against his party.
While moving a call attention in the Assembly on the alleged nepotism in MPSC, Basaiawmoit said that his party raising the issue of job reservation is not to hoodwink or mislead the job seekers as has been insinuated by few members of this House.
“We are not indulging in that kind of politics,”he said.
“I am very amused with some of the MLAs, who are so obsessed with the VPP. I feel they must learn to accept defeat and mandate of the people. Their continuing to insinuate us is undermining the wisdom of the people (who voted for the party in the Lok Sabha election),” he said while adding “The MP, who won from our party is not only the MP of the VPP, hee is MP representing the Shillong constituency. We want to see there is proper coordination between MP and state so that we can follow up (developmental projects).”
Urging the need to forget politics after election, Basaiawmoit said, “This is a loud and clear message against those, who are insinuating agains the VPP.”
