Wandalang Magdalene Malngiang named Best Gymnast at 6th Meghalaya Games
The 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 in Jowai has witnessed stellar performances, with East Khasi Hills leading the medal tally. A standout athlete, Wandalang Magdalene Malngiang from East Khasi Hills, has been named the “Best Gymnast (Overall Championship)” for her exceptional performances across multiple events.
Gymnastics Results:
Men’s Gymnastics: In the Senior Boys category, Darren Teinam Khonglam from East Khasi Hills won gold in both Floor Exercise (8.40 points) and Vaulting Table (10.20 points). Atharva Dixit from East Khasi Hills secured silver in both events (8.20 and 7.80 points), while Nathaniel Malngiang from East Khasi Hills took bronze in both (4.20 and 6.20 points). In the Mini Boys category, Aibanlang Khongphai from East Khasi Hills won gold in Floor Exercise (3.80 points), Emmanuel Mankhraw Malngiang from East Khasi Hills took silver (3.00 points), and Bawanshwa Lyngdoh from East Khasi Hills earned bronze (2.90 points).
Women’s Gymnastics: In the Sub Junior Girls category, Wansaphi Bernadette Malngiang from East Khasi Hills won gold in Floor Exercise (5.80 points), with Wansuk Mery Susngi from East Khasi Hills taking silver (5.20 points) and Sa-I-Bakor K Tariang from East Khasi Hills earning bronze (4.90 points). In Vaulting Table, Sa-I-Bakor K Tariang won gold (7.20 points), Wansuk Mery Susngi took silver (6.20 points), and Wansaphi Bernadette Malngiang earned bronze (6.00 points). For the Balancing Beam, Wansuk Mery Susngi secured gold (8.40 points), Wansaphi Bernadette Malngiang took silver (6.20 points), and Raffellia Malngiang earned bronze (6.10 points).
In the Junior Girls category, Josephine Isabel Warjri from East Khasi Hills won gold in Floor Exercise (9.50 points), Bakmenhun Shangpliang from East Khasi Hills took silver (7.90 points), and Athilia Susngi from East Khasi Hills earned bronze (6.21 points). In Vaulting Table, Bakmenhun Shangpliang won gold (10.50 points), Josephine Isabel Warjri took silver (10.40 points), and Daniella Ameda Wahlang earned bronze (6.50 points). For the Balancing Beam, Bakmenlang Shangpliang won gold (6.60 points), Josephine Isabel Warjri took silver (4.80 points), and Edeva Synnah earned 4.70 points.
In the Senior Girls category, Wandalang Magdalene Malngiang from East Khasi Hills emerged victorious with gold in Floor Exercise (10.20 points), followed by Agnes Lyngdoh from East Khasi Hills with silver (5.40 points), and Larihun Generosa Malngiang from East Khasi Hills with bronze (4.40 points). In Vaulting Table, Balasiewdor Malngiang won gold (7.40 points), Wandalang Magdalene Malngiang took silver (7.20 points), and Larihun Generosa Malngiang earned bronze (2.40 points). For the Balancing Beam, Wandalang Magdalene Malngiang secured gold (5.40 points), Catherine Kavela Marbaniang from East Khasi Hills took silver (3.10 points), and Agnes Lyngdoh earned bronze (2.90 points).
In the Mini category, Ruffina Malngiang from East Khasi Hills won gold in Floor Exercise (7.90 points), with silver going to Iwandakmen Lyngkhoi from East Khasi Hills (7.60 points), and bronze to Bimiksa Pangmae D Sangma from West Garo Hills (7.20 points). For the Balancing Beam, Ruffina Malngiang secured gold (5.20 points), Bimiksa Pangmae D Sangma took silver (4.10 points), and Adel Risa Malngiang from East Khasi Hills earned bronze (3.10 points).
