Weekly markets permitted to open in West Jaintia Hills

West Jaintia Hills District Magistrate, Garod LSN Dykes Informed that in partial modification of his order issued Dated 09.10.2021 Sl. No. 4 (A) and Sl.No. 2 & 3 (B), the following arrangement have been made with immediate effect and until further orders.

According to order, all Weekly Markets in the District are permitted to open with prior permission from the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai / Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem.

All Shops are permitted to open from Monday to Sunday.

The District Magistrate has instructed Individuals must maintain a minimum distance of 5 feet and Wearing of Face Mask Covering mouth and nose when moving around is mandatory.

Spitting & smoking in the public place including shops and work places is prohibited. (iii) Shopkeepers are to mandatorily display their Vaccination status “VACCINATED/ NOT VACCINATED” as the case may be.

Penalty shall be imposed against violators by the Designated Officers who have been empowered under Section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
