West Jaintia Hills: DC to review permission for event from Jan 10

West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner on Thursday has informed that all permission which has been granted to hold events w.e.f 10 January, 2022 shall be reviewed and the same shall be communicated to the concerned organisers.

The decision was in pursuance to the order of Home (Political) Department, Government of Meghalaya Dt. 03.01.2022 regarding restrictions of all official/ public/political gatherings of people.

The Deputy Commissioner also stated that all permission which has been granted for holding events/ programme within the 9 January, 2022 stand permitted as earlier.

However, in the event of a surge of Covid-19 cases and the area declared as containment zone, such permission shall stand cancelled automatically.
