West Jaintia Hills: DEO issues advisory to candidates and party representatives

In the interest of ensuring fair conduct of the ongoing General Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, 2023, the District Election Officer & Chairman Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) West Jaintia Hills District has issued advisory and called for cooperation from all political parties of the District to follow the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India.

In compliance with the Model Code of Conduct, the DEO and Chairman MCMC has informed that no advertisements, appeals, songs, audio & clippings, flags, signboards, flex, posters, banners and various other forms of publicity should be published, printed, circulated, distributed, telecast, aired, broadcasted, displayed, etc in connection with the ongoing General Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, 2023 without receiving due Certification from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee, Office of the District Election Officer, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.

Further, the Media Houses (Print, Electronic, Television, Radio, etc.) are also advised to exercise caution and refrain from broadcasting any content which may cause undue influence in favour of an Intending Candidate or Party or which may inadvertently violate the enforced Model Conduct in the District of West Jaintia Hills.
