West Jaintia Hills police bust Interstate drug traffickers in Raliang village
West Jaintia Hills police busted interstate drug traffickers by arresting 4 people including a woman and seizing drugs worth 76 lakh on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills Bikram D Marak said that they acted on source information that some interstate drug traffickers entered the district with drugs consignment meant for the district.
He said an operation was launch during early morning hours today by a dedicated team and @ 1pm intercepted 2 vehicles (AS 01U 6392 & ML10 A 7999) under Raliang OP Naka.
He said that after thorough search, found suspected heroin hidden in a secret chamber of one of the vehicle bearing Assam registration number AS 11U 6392 and on testing resulted in positive.
13 (thirteen) soap boxes containing Heroin with total weight of 152 gms @ market value of Rs 76 lakh were recovered from the said vehicle.
Police said 3 phones, Cash of Rs 52, 550/- were recovered and seized from arrested persons.
Case under NDPS Act is registered and investigation is on to get more linkages.
