West Jaintia Hills releases August rice quotas and revises SK Oil prices
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of West Jaintia Hills has announced the release of the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Household (PHH), and Non-NFSA rice quotas for August 2024 to Fair Price Shop dealers across the district.
Under the AAY scheme, eligible beneficiaries in both rural and urban areas will receive 35 kg of rice per AAY Family Identification (F.I.) Card free of cost. Similarly, the PHH quota will be distributed at the rate of 5 kg per person, also free of charge, for both rural and urban households. The Non-NFSA quota will be provided at 7.105 kg per household at a rate not exceeding Rs14 per kg, as determined by the Vigilance Committee.
All Fair Price Shop dealers, authorized by the competent authority, have been instructed to collect the permits from the Deputy Commissioner’s (Supply) office and complete the distribution by September 10, 2024, using the ePos machine in online mode.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has announced revised prices for SK oil (PDS). The wholesale price from Jowai to Thadlaskein is set at Rs 68 per litre, while the wholesale price from the Shangpung outlet is Rs 74 per litre. Retail prices in Jowai and Thadlaskein are fixed at Rs 71 per litre, and the Shangpung retail centre will sell at Rs 77 per litre.
