West Karbi Anglong District Administration assured full support & cooperation for smooth conduct of JHADC’s Election
The District Administration of West Karbi Anglong, Assam has assured full support and cooperation to the District Administration of West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya to ensure peaceful conduct of the JHADC’s election in the border areas of Assam-Meghalaya along the two districts.
According to official statement, Meghalaya Police informed that special focus is being made on areas located along the inter-state border and security deployment will be strengthened in the run up to the Polling Day. Further, border meeting at SP level and also at DC level was held and the counterpart had assured to render all possible security assistance while adding that close coordination will be maintained with the West Karbi Anglong police and district administration during the polling day.
The statement informed that Meghalaya Police will deploy 550 police officers and personnel for ensuring free and fair polling during the polling for the general election of JHADC on the 21st of this month in West Jaintia Hills District.
As per the vulnerability mapping of Polling Station by the Election Cell in consultation with the Sector Officers and Police setup, 48 Polling Stations in the District has been categorised as vulnerable. Additional security personnel will be deployed in Vulnerable Polling Station and they will also be covered by the Quick Response Team which will be placed in strategic locations.
The statement informed that precautionary measures such as deposit of License Arms, Vice Raids, binding down of trouble mongers, Naka checking, Patrolling etc are in place and till date no MCC violation has been reported and no Electoral Offence Case registered.
