Whatsapp group for coordinating movement of migrants

An inter-state coordination WhatsApp group with officials from East Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya and Hailakandi, Cachar & Karimganj districts of Assam has been created.

The objective is as follows:

To minimise the time taken to clear the vehicles at Ratacherra so that general public doesn’t face undue inconvenience.

To ensure speedy & effective co-ordinated response to incidents like road traffic accident etc.

To facilitate movement of migrants to/from Barak Valley to Guwahati via NH-6;

To ensure that inter-state miscreants do not take advantage of the situation.
