Why is Jowai MCH Hospital still under lock & key Mr. Chief Minister?

The people of Jaintia Hills region wants to know from Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma why is the Maternal Child Health Hospital, Jowai still under lock and key when the hospital was already inaugurated by him on 3rd of this month.

Even after two weeks of inauguration of the MCH Hospital, the hospital building still remain under lock and keys.

The people wondered why did the Chief Minister inaugurated the hospital if he knows it was actually not ready for inauguration.

Maybe, the Chief Minister did not know that the hospital was not ready for inauguration.

Perhaps this is latest trend of the NPP led MDA government to keep the facility under lock and key after inauguration.

Apparently, the Chief Minister inaugurated the hospital for the appeasement of Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla or has Sangma taken the people of entire Jaintia Hills region for granted?

Notably according to official write up presented during the inaugural programme, “at present manpower, particularly Doctors/MOs and SMOs have to be appointed at the earliest for the smooth running of the Hospital.”

The two Pediatricians and two OBG Specialists posted at Jowai Civil Hospital in Ialong who were transfer to MCH Hospital did not joined their new posting till date.

The supporting staff nurses and the other categories of staff presently working in Jowai Civil Hospital lalong who were deputed to MCH Hospital did not to join either till date.

Taking strong exception over the non operational of the MCH Hospital despite its inauguration, Jowai Central MDC A Andrew Shullai said the inauguration was merely to fool the people of the region.
