Widow of former Congress legislator joined NPP & gets Vice Chaiperson’s post

In a major political development in Western Region of Meghalaya, Hasina Yasmine Mondal the widow of former Congress Rajabala MLA late Dr Azad Zaman has shifted her allegiance to the National People Party (NPP).

Hasina unsuccessfully contested as Congress candidate for the Rajabala bye-election in 2021.

In recognition of her support to the party, the NPP led MDA Govt rewarded her with a post of vice chairperson in one of the State run boards.

According to a notification issued on Thursday, the Governor of Meghalaya appointed Smti. Hasina Yasmine
Mondal as Vice Chairman, Meghalaya State Health Advisory Board, Shillong with perks and facilities under Category ‘A.’
