Wilfred to lead Eastern West Khasi Hills District as first DC
Two days ahead of the inauguration of the youngest district of the Meghalaya, the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance Govt on Monday entrusted Wilfred Nongsiej, IAS with the herculean task of shaping Eastern West Khasi Hills District as its first Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate.
The new District will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday.
In an order issued, Nongsiej was relieved from his present posting as Secretary to the Govt. of Council Affairs, Prisons Departments & Secretary, Meghalaya Human Rights Commission with effect from Wednesday.
Alertson Nongbri, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner i/c Mairang (Civil) Sub-Division shall function as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang with effect from 10.11.2021 and until further orders.
V Swer, MCS, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Mairang (Civil) Sub-Division shall function as Extra Assistant Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang with effect from 10.11.2021 and until further orders.
He shall, continue to function as Block Development Officer, Mairang Community & Rural Development Block.
