Wine shops to open for five days in West Jaintia Hills

In compliance with the Government’s Order and the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), West Jaintia Hills has informed that Wine shops and Bonded Warehouse in West Jaintia Hills District who have renewed their license for year 2020-2021 are permitted to open from 11th June, 2020 from 10.00 Am to 7.00 Pm from Monday to Friday.

The Deputy Commissioner has instructed the Wine shops and Bonded Warehouse to strictly comply with the guidelines and directives issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya with reference to COVID-19 situation and to strictly open between 10.00 Am to 7.0 Pm on permitted days.

Further, the Wine shops and customers are to strictly follow and maintain social distancing of at least 6 (six) feet and not to overcrowd in one shop. Only 5 persons are allowed at one time in one shop, to avoid overcrowded, staff of a particular wine shop are directed to guide the customers to the other nearby wine shops.

The Wine shops should work with bare minimum staff and all staff are to wear face masks compulsory. Hand sanitizers should also be provided to customers and also to staff while handling the bottle and cash. The Wine shops are directed to provide full co – operation to the District Administration, Excise, Police etc.
