Wines stores to function a little less than normal in East Jaintia Hills
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Jaintia Hills District informs the general public that in continuation to the office Order and in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Wine shops and Bonded Warehouses which have renewed their license for the year 2020-21 are allowed to open in East Jaintia Hills District from Monday to Friday.
The wine shops will open from 9.00AM to 1.00 PM and the Bonded Warehouses will open from 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM. However, the Bonded Warehouses and IMFL Retailers shops are allowed to be opened keeping in mind the space availability in order to prevent transmission of COVID-19.
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise) has instructed the wine shops to deploy their own staff and they should personally be responsible to ensure social distancing of at least 6 (Six) feet from each other and also to ensure that not more than 5(five) persons are present at one time at the Shop. They are to strictly follow all the directives and advisories issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya with reference to COVID-19 situation.
Furthermore, the wine shops should work with bare minimum staff; all staff should compulsorily wear masks and also provide hand- sanitizers to customers and to other staffs while handling the bottles and cash, In order to strictly avoid overcrowding, staff of a particular wine shop should direct the customer to other nearby wineshops. It has also been instructed that the wine shops should extend full cooperation to the District Administration, Police and Excise etc.
