Woman dies of COVID-19 at NEIGRIHMS, death toll rises to 14

A woman, who tested positive for COVID-19, died at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), hospital on Thursday night, taking the death toll in the state to 14.

Sources in the health department said that the Garo woman was from Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi district.

She was admitted at the hospital for treatment of other ailments and was also tested positive for coronavirus. The woman however passed away, the sources said.
