World Founder’s Day and World Thinking Day celebrated

The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides on Tuesday celebrated the World Founder’s Day and World Thinking Day commemorating the birthday of the Founder of Scouting- Lord Baden Powell and Lady Olave Baden Powell, his wife on the theme “Our World, Our Equal Future: the environment and gender equality” at the function held at the State Headquarters, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, Shillong.

Kenneth Kharkongor, State Commissioner (Scouts) graced the event as the Chief Guest whereby dignitaries and members of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides attended the celebration.

Kenneth Kharkongor on his address reiterated on the importance of tackling the menace of plastic and urged the youth to take up this challenge immediately for a better future and a cleaner environment, while at the same time emphasizes the importance of proper management of plastic usage.        

The programme exhibited the renewal of the Scout Promise whereby members reaffirmed their commitment to continue upholding the Scout Promise. The members of the State Youth Committee of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides also presented a musical mashup on the occasion.
