World Social Work Day observed with pledge to respect people diversity
The School of Social Work, Martin Luther Christian University celebrated World Social Work Day on Tuesday, which is observed on the third Tuesday of March every year.
The theme of 2023 celebration is ‘Respecting Diversity Through Joint Social Action’.
During the observation, the students carried out flashmobs, streetplays, puppet shows and a signature campaign in Laitumkhrah and Motphran simultaneously.
The performances highlighted the ‘Importance of Relationship and Respecting Others’ with a main focus on three areas: Family, Friends and Community.
After the street play, the students interacted with the members of the public in order to enable reflections of what they learnt through the street play.
Later, a signature campaign was also organised where members of the public took a pledge to respect people’s diversity.
