Yogotsav in Karbi Anglong rallies 380 participants ahead of International Yoga Day 2025

With just 22 days left in the 100-day countdown to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, Karbi Anglong joined the nationwide celebration with a spirited Yogotsav at the Diphu Police Reserve Camp Field. The event drew nearly 380 participants—ranging from police personnel to local residents—united in a shared commitment to health, harmony, and mindfulness through yoga.
Organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) under the Ministry of Ayush, the programme is part of a broader push to amplify yoga’s role in building a healthier, more balanced society. This Yogotsav was more than just a public event—it was a grassroots call to action encouraging individuals to adopt yoga as a way of life.
The morning session opened with the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), led by Dibya Jyoti Deka, a seasoned yoga instructor known for conducting sessions for the Governor of Assam. His steady, composed instruction helped set a tone of focus and tranquillity, grounding the participants in the core principles of yoga.
Adding depth to the programme, Yogacharya Subhasish Kar conducted a session titled “Yogic Tips for Better Health.” His talk provided participants with everyday strategies for integrating yoga into their routines—emphasizing consistency, breath awareness, and posture alignment for better physical and mental well-being.

A standout moment came during the live demonstration of Jal Neti, a traditional yogic cleansing technique. The hands-on workshop walked participants through the method, emphasizing its effectiveness in improving respiratory health, especially relevant in today’s context of increasing environmental pollution and sinus-related issues.
As the event drew to a close, the overarching message was clear: yoga is not just exercise, but a lifestyle choice that brings lasting benefits to individuals and communities alike. The programme reinforced India’s vision of using yoga to foster not just physical fitness, but emotional resilience and societal harmony.

Karbi Anglong’s enthusiastic participation reflects the growing grassroots momentum behind IDY 2025, as communities across the country come together to celebrate yoga as a unifying force of health, discipline, and self-awareness
